Monthly Overnight Campouts

Troop 102 hosts an overnight campout in Texas every month, allowing scouts to experience the wonders of camping and backpacking in all seasons. These campouts provide scouts with hands-on experience in essential camping skills, such as setting up tents, building campfires, and cooking over a fire.

Summer Camp Adventures

Troop 102 attends a BSA summer camp each summer, immersing scouts in a week-long experience of outdoor activities, leadership training, and camaraderie. These camps offer a variety of programs, from traditional camping and canoeing to more specialized activities like rock climbing and whitewater rafting.

High Adventure Opportunities

For scouts seeking even greater challenges, Troop 102 regularly sends crews to one or more of the BSA's high adventure sites: Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, Northern Tier Canoeing in Minnesota and Canada, and SeaBase sailing in Florida. These high-adventure expeditions provide scouts with unique opportunities to test their limits, develop self-reliance, and experience the beauty of the natural world.

Active Participation in Alamo Area Council Scouting Events

Troop 102 actively participates in Scouting events throughout the year, including Merit Badge Universities, National Youth Leadership Training, and Order of the Arrow ceremonies. These events provide scouts with additional learning, growth, and leadership development opportunities.
